Hi everyone!
I hope you all had a good summer. Over the last three summers, I have worked with a Swedish steel start-up called H2 Green Steel which is aiming to be the first company in the world to employ large-scale production of green steel by 2025. By using hydrogen as a reducing gas and cutting-edge technology solutions the process will reduce CO2 emissions by 95% in an industry that currently accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions! To date, the company has secured €5.3 billion in funding with our first integrated steel plant being constructed in the north of Sweden and with several other hydrogen-related projects soon to come.
The company is growing quickly and there will be several opportunities down the line for research projects, internship opportunities, and professional roles for students coming from an engineering background, especially materials scientists. Make sure to join and please reach out to me if you have any questions.
